National Award from Svensk Bokkonst for the book ”Horungen” (A Bastard Child)
Award for Swedish Art Book 2018: Horungen (A Bastard Child) by Knutte Wester All winning books will be exhibited at the Royal Library in Stockholm until august 2018.

Hos barnhemsbarnen. Elle

Korean Review on a Bastard Child
In Korea, a documentary used to be considered as a part of journalism, and it is accepted as having a distance from arts, personal tastes, or imaginations. However, an artist who paints pictures has used the animation to portray his grandmother’s life. It is not just a technical reason to replace something that cannot be photo- graphed or reproduced. The film is a montage of images, and animated images have been adopted as a way of articulating imagination and personal consci

A Bastard Child - interview with Director Knutte Wester
In 1909 in an undemocratic Sweden, a bastard child is born. Called Hervor, her mother is unmarried, and therefore labelled a ‘whore’ and driven from her home. Hervor grows up in shelters and orphanages, unwanted and rejected by society. When she becomes an adult, she fights for women’s rights and social justice for the thousands of children who were placed in similar situations as her. Artist Knutte Wester spends his childhood listening to his grandmother Hervor’s stories, wh
